The path to go into the military, and especially special operations, can be extremely difficult and confusing. Information is conflicting or confusing, hard to come by, and who knows if what you are reading is even true. If you don’t have anyone that has been in special operations to ask questions to, the process may be even more difficult. Hopefully from my experiences someone else can have some questions answered or have me to ask them to.

Rewind to over a decade ago, I was watching fighter jet compilation videos on YouTube and becoming OBSESSED. I remember watching them break the sound barrier and do fly-by’s thinking, that’s what I want to do. And so my decision to go into the military was made. I thought the flying was awesome, but I knew very little about it or the military. I told my parents that I wanted to join and my mom took that a little harder than my dad. My mom thought the military was a death sentence, even though my father and grandfather had both served, but eventually she came around. Once I turned 16, my parents agreed to pay for flying lessons so I could discover if flying was really what I wanted to do. I absolutely LOVED it, and that became what I was…
